Comebacks and London Newcomers To Amp Up Milano FW

Politically, Britain may have one leg out of the European Union, but when it comes to fashion, they are forging major ties on the Continent. First off, Italy's Fashion Chamber said Thursday that the late Alexander McQueen's label will return to show in Milan Men's Fashion Week for the first time since 2013.

A presentation has been slated for January 12th, between 10am and 4pm, though the location has yet to be announced. Stella McCartney will also continue to showcase her mens collections in Milan during fashion week here, presenting by appointment between the 13th and the 22nd of January.

As part of a larger strategy to infuse Milan Men's Fashion shows with fresh and international names and attract more buyers, Italy's fashion chamber has also linked up with its British counterpart the British Fashion Council to bring a group of emerging British talents to showcase here, as shows kick off on January 10th at the close of Pitti Uomo in Florence.

In the heart of the Italian fashion capital's Design District, Spazio Savona 56, will serve as the display for 10 up-and-coming brands represented by LONDON show ROOMS.  A cocktail event on January 11th is planned to open the event, where five Italian designers (who share a special connection with London,) will also participate. LONDON show ROOMS  will also host an art installation designed by The Mill and produced by YouConcept, bringing the story of LFWM to new audiences.

“We are very pleased about this year’s collaboration with the BFC. The collaboration between both institutions is a precious opportunity for both of us to establish a bridge between our cultures and to create a lasting relationship that will surely be enriching for all parties involved. This project will give CNMI the opportunity to expand our horizons and to render Milan’s Men's Fashion Week even more international,” stated Carlo Capasa, the head of Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italia, in a press conference held at Milan’s Palazzo Reale on Thursday.

Elsewhere, A-COLD-WALL*, the BritishFashion Council/GQ Designer Menswear Fund & NEWGEN recipient will be showcasing his collection at Milan’s Palazzo del Ghiaccio, on Monday, January 13th.
