Milan’s Fashion Film Festival will unveil “Peter Lindbergh: Women’s Stories” at Milan’s Anteo Cinema on November 10th.
“Engaging and intimate, this film depicts the German photographer and features Naomi Campbell, [his wife] Astrid Lindbergh, and Helga Polzin,” organizers said Tuesday.
The Lindbergh documentary was directed by Jean-Michel Vecchiet, who also depicted the life of Jean-Michel Basquiat in the 2010 documentary “Basquiat.” Insiders said Vecchiet had already began making the film before Lindbergh’s untimely death in September.
Now in its sixth edition,Fashion Film Festival Milano, founded and spearheaded by Constanza Cavalli Etro and curated by fashion editor and writer Gloria Maria Cappelletti, highlights the common values between art, creativity, and fashion, bringing them all to the big screen. The festival will open Nov 6 and run until Nov 10.
This year, sustainability education, support for female talent, social diversity and inclusion remain the core values of the festival. Films like “ASAP- As Sustainable As Possible, As Soon As Possible,” which narrates the origins and evolution of Brazilian brand Osklen are expected to echo that message. Stella Scott’s documentary on legendary 80s designer Claude Montana (supported by Fartetch), Jacopo Maria Cinti’s “Why Story Mfg” (sponsored by Mr. Porter) and Gigi and Roy Artzi’s “Behind the Bag” (sponsored by Pop and Suki) with Suki Waterhouse are among the brand-funded films expected to garner critical acclaim.
