MATCHESFASHION Launches Fashion Trust Arabia Winning Collections

Launching today on MATCHESFASHION are the SS20 collections from the winning designers of Fashion Trust Arabia 2019.

The initiative was launched in 2018, under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as Honorary Chair and co-Chaired by HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Fares, Founder of Fashion Trust. Mirroring the UK's BFC Fashion Trust, the program strives to extend the same opportunities of British designers to dynamic fashion designers in the MENA region.

Chosen by a panel of leading industry experts, during the FTA 2019 Awards, hosted in Doha, Qatar, the winning designers are Salim Azzam (ready-to-wear), Roni Helou (ready-to-wear), Mukhi Sisters (jewellery), Zyne (shoes) and Sabry Marouf (bags).

"MATCHESFASHION has long been established as a champion of global design talent—our partnership with Fashion Trust Arabia has opened up a new opportunity to shine a light on new and innovative designers from the MENA region. What was unique for each of these brands is how proud they are of their heritage and how much this has influenced them. From the use of local artisans to inspiration from ancient artefacts and dress, we are excited to bring our customers into our journey of discovery with these designers and share their stories," stated Natalie Kingham, MATCHESFASHION's Fashion and Buying Director and member of the FTA Advisory Board.

In addition to receiving financial support of up to $200,000 from FTA, designers were also part of a yearlong mentorship program with the MATCHESFASHION buying team and brought to London and New York to participate in workshops with business leaders in content, communications, branding, sustainability, logistics and e-commerce.

The collections will be available to shop on the British e-tailer from June 17th 2020.
